During our numerous trips to The Gambia, we have noticed that children with intellectual disabilities, often in need of care, are generally neglected. There are hardly any appropriate educational programmes for them. As an organisation, we are committed to promoting the right to education and a self-determined, dignified life for people with disabilities in The Gambia. Children with intellectual disabilities are often underestimated. With our HAMBIA Support Center project in The Gambia, we want to actively contribute to greater social acceptance of these children and promote their possible integration into working life.
